Annual Meeting of the Ethological Society – Konstanz
24–27 February, 2027
Join us for Etho 2027 in Konstanz, the Annual Meeting of the Ethological Society, organized by the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior.
We invite all behavioural biologists, including members and non-members of the Ethological Society, to present their work and discuss it with colleagues in person. Everyone is welcome and appreciated, whether you are a student, an early career researcher, or a more senior scientist.
The meeting will feature talks and posters on all aspects of behaviour, providing an opportunity to share current research, exchange ideas, and strengthen connections within the ethological community.

Program
Etho 2027 will focus on contributed talks and poster presentations covering the full breadth of behavioural biology. Topics may include, but are not limited to, animal communication, movement and migration, social behaviour, cognition, behavioural ecology, evolution, conservation behaviour, and the mechanisms underlying behavioural phenotypes. The programme will be dedicated to the broad range of research presented by participants across all areas of ethology. See more about the program
Venue
The conference will take place in Konstanz, a historic university city located directly on Lake Constance at the German-Swiss border. Konstanz offers an inspiring setting for scientific exchange, with its lakeside location, lively old town, and close proximity to a variety of natural habitats.
The meeting is hosted by the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior, an international research institute dedicated to understanding animal behaviour across species, scales, and environments.
Konstanz is well connected by public transport and can be reached by train from major cities in Germany and Switzerland. The city offers a range of accommodation options, restaurants, cafés, and bakeries within easy reach of the conference venue.
