Konstanz

Konstanz (we prefer the German name) is a university town located on the shores of the Bodensee (or Lake Constance).

Between medieval alleyways, historic buildings and shimmering waters, Konstanz blends 2,000 years of history with vibrant, cosmopolitan culture. This is a town that‘s worth your time to explore. The Conference Venue

Located on the harbor in a 600-year-old building, the Konzil is a conference venue in a landmark destination. The 14th century building was the site of the infamous Council of Konstanz (1414-1418), the only papal election held north of the Alps and a turning point for Christianity in the Middle Ages.

Today, it offers historic rooms, modern equipment, and professional support with arguably the best lake views in Konstanz. Etho 2027 will take place in the Oberer Konzilsaal on the building‘s first floor, with a magnificent balcony overlooking the harbor. It‘s the most beautiful terrace in Konstanz; and about that there is no discussion.

Travel to the venue

We recommend using public transport to get from your hotel to the venue.

By bus to the “Konzilstraße/Theater” or “Konstanz Main Station” bus stop; from there, the Konzil is a 4- to 5-minute walk away.

By train to Konstanz Main Station; from there, the Konzil is about a 5-minute walk away.

By boat, go to the Konstanz harbor; the Konzil is located right on the lakefront promenade there.

By car: parking space is available at

Parkhaus Fischmarkt, Salmannsweilergasse 1, 78462 Konstanz (distance from the venue ~160m): To get there, cross the Rhine Bridge and follow Konzilstraße. After about 500 meters, you’ll see the Southwest German Philharmonic on your left. At this point, turn right toward the fish market, which will also take you to the parking garage. The parking garage is also well-signposted.
Parkhaus Marktstätte, Dammgasse 3, 78462 Konstanz (distance from the venue ~220m): To get there, cross the Rhine Bridge and continue straight ahead. After about 1 km, you'll see McDonald's on your right. If you turn right onto Dammgasse right in front of McDonald's, you'll find the Marktstätte parking garage.
Parkhaus LAGO Shopping-Center, Hafenstraße 31, 78462 Konstanz (distance from the venue: ~650m): From the Rhine Bridge, continue straight ahead all the way into the city center. Pass the train station and head directly toward LAGO; the parking garage is clearly marked on the left.
