Teaching at the Institute

As part of the Max Planck Society, the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior is not a teaching institute per se. But that doesn’t stop us meeting our mission to provide the best scientific training available to the next generation. At our partner university—the University of Konstanz—MPI-AB scientists deliver over 20 hours of teaching each week. Our Bachelor lecture series, Master’s practical programs, and wide variety of theses connect students with top-level research from early in their careers. For those outside the university system, we also offer summer schools and conferences at our Max Planck institute in Konstanz. The two-week AniMove, which started in 2013, has grown into an annual intensive summer school for studying animal movement held in partner organizations around the world.
