Stress and the City
Urban bat populations are exposed to various stressors, and differences between urban and wild bat populations in their stress response and tolerance have been observed in several species. Understanding the impact of stress on bat populations is critical for bat well-being, public health, and ecosystem conservation. We compared the stress levels, infection status, and microbiome composition of the endemic bat species for Reunion Island - Mormopterus francoismoutoui - in both urban and wild populations.
