Main Focus

At the confluence of geography and ecology, my research interests lie in understanding the various behavioral strategies to navigate through the landscape by birds. Under the direction of Dr. Elham Nourani, who leads the ontogeny of soaring flight project, my master's thesis aims at identifying different landscape utilization strategies in juvenile golden eagles. Specifically, I aim to explore individual learning behavior and intra specific variations. As a geographer, I am interested in the movement of wild birds through the landscape as it can be seen as a repository of memory of past relation between human societies and wilderness.
