Main Focus
I am a behavioural ecologist with a broad interest in animal cognition, social behaviour and acoustic communication and how they interact with each other. My research explores sources of variation in behaviour and – focusing on ecological drivers – I investigated decision-making processes, cost-mitigation strategies and tool-handling performance. In particular, I am interested in how a species’ ecology and social structure shape its natural behavioural repertoire.
