Main Focus

I am a behavioral ecologist interested on the intersection of social behavior, forest traits and disease ecology. My research has mainly focused on understanding how social interactions and social structure shape parasite transmission in Neotropical primates. A central part of my work has been using social network analysis to explore how individual traits can influence host-pathogen dynamics and infection risk. Currently, I am studying parasite dynamics in capuchin monkeys inhabiting islands and the implications of diet, strata use and social structure.
