Main Focus
Since my bachelors, I had an inclination towards mathematical biology which led me to become interested in studying collective systems and understanding how simple individuals show complex patterns when in groups. Before joining the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behaviour as a postdoc, I studied fish schooling dynamics for my PhD at the Centre for Ecological Sciences, Indian Institute of Sciences, Bengaluru. My research during this time has been at the interface of biology, physics and mathematics, employing both theory and data analysis. At the MPI, I would be examining collective sensing in two model systems: epithelial cells and honey bees. In my free time, I spend time with family and friends, cook food, eat and listen to music.
