Main Focus

I am a behavioural ecologist who studies a wide variety of aquatic animals. I use controlled laboratory studies, extensive field work, and scientific SCUBA diving to understand how animals interact with each other and their environments. I study a range of different topics, but my research broadly focuses on reproductive strategies and mating systems. I am interested in reproductive competition, parental care, and the evolutionary implications of parentage loss. Some of my work also focuses on how humans are impacting wild animal behaviour.
