DESCRIPTION:As scientists\, we aim to make a meaningful impact on the world
through our studies. But what is more important – fundamental ecologica
l research or applied conservation research? In my recent studies\, I trie
d to find ways to integrate both fields. I will share some of my work on t
wo endangered raptor species\, focusing on the link between movement ecolo
gy and conservation ecology. I will present insights regarding behavioral
ontogeny and migratory proficiencies of these species and their implicatio
ns for conservation\, along with evaluations of the efficiency of conserva
tion efforts. Building on these findings\, I will share some thoughts abou
t how to bridge the gap between movement ecology and conservation ecology.
